Miracles
Despite the many problems I have at work, or actually, because of them, I found myself frequenting supermarkets and in the kitchen, cooking.
A few months ago, I asked my housemate to teach me how to cook my favorite viand, pork siningang. Then I cooked the dish for my friends who live next door.
And last week, because my housemate is really sick, I started cooking for J and M. I cooked ground pork omelet, ampalaya with egg, mongo with sili tops, pork strips with bean sprouts paired with chicken lollipops, ground pork with tomato sauce and hard-boiled egg, stir-fried pork with broccoli and shitake mushrooms. All these happened in a week. And surprisingly, they turned out fine. And this is coming from someone who did not even know how to cook rice until about a year ago.
The fact that I can now cook a decent dish is in itself, a miracle. ###
